Hey, I’m Charlie! I’m a Melbourne-based comedian, podcaster and Nicole Kidman body double. I most recently worked as a writer, editor and producer on Channel Ten’s The Project. I’m known for my great legs and my uniquely theatrical, irreverent style of comedy. My work is camp and sincere, blending a background in theatre with elements of improv, sketch and musical comedy. I’ve been described as a “rising star of stand-up” who “commands the stage like a Broadway theatre” (The Music)

Before making my foray into the world of comedy, I worked extensively in the world of theatre, completing a Bachelor’s of Performing Arts (majoring in script-writing, directing and serving c*nt). In 2018 I made a splash on the Melbourne scene, making it to the RAW Comedy state finals and earning a Best Comedy nomination for my Melbourne Fringe cabaret Community Service later that year.

In 2019 I was hand-picked for Comedy Zone, a month long showcase of the best new comics in the country at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. I made my solo debut at the festival in 2021 with my show Cockatiel, for which I won the prize of Best Newcomer, and an encore season at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023. My 2025 festival show Frogaccini was a sold-out success, earning an encore season and a nomination for MICF’s ‘Golden Gibbo’ award.

Outside of festivals I have been working across Australia as a stand-up, dramaturg and producer, performing at mainstage venues such as the Athenaeum, Melbourne Town Hall, Enmore Theatre, and Brisbane Powerhouse. I have my own YouTube channel and self-produced podcast POPGAYS, the latter of which won silver for Best Entertainment at the Australian Podcast Awards 2022.

The past few years I have been honing my skills as a writer and theatre-maker on and off the stage and touring my shows around Australia and the UK. I have performed on the Sydney Mardi Gras Gala, Edinburgh Fringe’s Late N Live, and opened for international acts such as Anna Akana and Juno Birch.

When I’m not brushing dog hair off my clothes, you can find me gigging in Melbourne, touring around Australia and on my (award-winning) podcast POPGAYS each week!
