COCKATIEL

Winner - Best Newcomer - Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2021

Charlie Lewin never felt like a magpie. Which is probably a good thing, because they’re all full of shit. From Catholic boy’s school all the way to Grindr, Cockatiel is a hilarious and heartfelt snapshot of the life of a queer kid from Melbourne trying to find his flock.

Bending genre and gender, stand-up and song, Cockatiel is a whip-smart and relatable coming-of-age tale that will speak to every strange little drama kid trying to figure it all out. Camp, nostalgic and utterly hilarious, Cockatiel is the solo debut of a shining new Aussie talent.

UPCOMING IN 2023:

EDINBURGH FRINGE:

IT’S GIVING CHAR

After winning Best Newcomer at the 2021 Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Charlie feels an undeniable need to top himself — a big ask for a notorious bottom. As the world is plunged to darkness, this "rising star of stand up" (The Music) faces the greatest apocalypse of all: turning 30.

In this scintillating sequel, Lewin takes on the crisis of living, and also memes, and also Avril Lavigne clone conspiracies. There are songs and mixed media and maybe even a live audience (?) if the world hasn’t fully combusted. It's a juicy little morsel for the gays, theys and theatre sluts, especially those approaching or departing the big 3 0.

It’s giving camp. It’s giving chaos. It’s giving Char.

“Charlie immediately wins his audience with charm and boundless enthusiasm. We’ll be seeing him play high profile venues for quite some time into the future.” - Squirrel Comedy

SHINY SHINY

Life’s a disco, baby. We’re all just stayin’ alive.
